A warehouse move is a volume job with an inventory problem attached. The furniture side is straightforward: racking, benches, workstations and equipment. The part that decides whether the business trades on Monday is whether the stock comes off the truck in an order that lets somebody find item lines on day one, so the load plan is agreed before the first pallet moves.
Cactus works to the dock rather than the front door. Access at both ends sets the shape of the job: the dock height, the door width, the yard turning circle and the hours the building releases. Larger relocations are staged across several loads or several days so a business can keep picking orders out of one end while the other is being filled.
- Palletised and boxed stock loaded to an agreed order and unloaded against it
- Racking, benches, shelving and workstations dismantled and rebuilt
- Dock windows, yard access and building rules agreed at both ends first
- Staged loads and phased days so trading can continue during the move
- Machinery and heavy equipment moved where access and weight allow

Warehouse moving by branch
Industrial parks, dock access and after hours rules are local knowledge. The card opens the branch that would run the relocation and its office number.
Call us or get a quote online. Either works.
How a warehouse move is priced
Small commercial jobs run on the published hourly rates, at a rate that follows the crew and the truck. Anything at real warehouse scale is quoted after a walk through, because pallet count, racking runs and dock access tell the office what square footage never will. A quote given without seeing the floor is a guess dressed as a number.
One operations fee covers the coordination around the job, and there is no fuel surcharge, no mileage and no travel time charge within city limits. Evening, overnight and weekend work is scheduled at the same rates rather than treated as an emergency call out.
Commercial rates by city
Each branch publishes the hourly rates and minimums that a smaller commercial job is billed against.
Mississauga has 7 local moves on record, and this table publishes a price at 30 or more, so that row carries its count and no figures. A spread taken from that many jobs would look like a measurement and read like a guess. What is firm at any sample size is the hourly rate card, and every city page below publishes it.
Totals are what Cactus invoiced, in Canadian dollars with tax in, for moves whose pickup and at least one drop-off were both inside the city. Medians and quartiles, never averages, winsorised at the 5th and 95th percentile so one unusual job cannot move a band. Storage and packing materials are billed on their own agreements and are outside these totals. Measured August 30, 2026.

Warehouse relocation questions
What operations and logistics managers ask before booking.
Can we keep trading while the warehouse moves?
Usually, and it is the normal request. The move is staged: the slow moving stock and the racking go first, the fast moving lines last, and the new site is picking before the old one is empty. That plan is built with you at the walk through.
Do you take the racking down and put it back up?
The crew dismantles and reassembles standard shelving and benching. Engineered pallet racking with a load rating is a specialist installation, and it should be signed off by the installer at the new site; tell us which kind you have and the plan is written around it.
How do you keep the inventory in order?
By agreeing a load order before the day and labelling to it. Pallets and cartons are marked with the aisle, bay or zone they are going to, loaded last on first off where that matters, and checked off as they come into the new building.
Do you provide pallets, wrap and cartons?
Materials can be supplied with the job, including cartons, wrap and protective packing. Tell the office roughly how much stock is loose and it will bring the quantities rather than leaving you to guess.
What about forklifts and heavy machinery?
The crew moves equipment where the weight and the access allow it. Machines that need a forklift ticket, a crane or a millwright are outside what we carry, and the office will say so at the walk through instead of finding out on the day.
Can the move happen overnight?
Yes, where both buildings release the hours. Overnight and weekend windows are common for warehouse work because dock traffic and staff are both out of the way, and they are scheduled at the same rates.
