Our Story
How Cactus Moving grew from a single truck in Calgary into a mover that crosses the country and the border.
Founder
Cactus Moving was born out of a desire to provide reliable, efficient, and customer-focused moving services. Our founder, Sam, started with just one moving truck and a small team of dedicated movers and drivers. Despite the humble beginnings, we were driven by a clear vision and a strong commitment to serving our clients' needs.
How We Started
Our journey began with a focus on local moves within Calgary. We quickly built a reputation for our professionalism and attention to detail, which led to our first customers recommending us to their friends and family. This word-of-mouth growth was the first sign that we were filling a real need in the community.
Growing BIG
As we grew, we expanded our services to include long-distance moves across provinces. This was a significant milestone for us, marking our transition from a local moving company to a national service provider. Today, we can confidently say that Cactus Moving makes the process smooth and stress-free, across the street or across the country.

Our Truck Fleet
Our in-house fleet spans 16- to 53-foot moving trucks, so the truck that arrives is sized to the move rather than to whatever was free.
