Movers in Tipaskan: what we know about moving here

Tipaskan is a mixed neighbourhood rather than a uniform one. Close to two homes in five are apartments in low-rise buildings, a little over two in five are single-detached houses, and most of the rest is row housing. A crew can be carrying out of a walk-up on one job and out of a family house on the next. Tenure divides almost evenly between owning and renting, which means lease ends and possession days both land in the calendar. None of the housing rises to five storeys, so there is no tower lift or loading dock to work around; what there is instead is a stairwell and a walk across the lot. The hours, job sizes and prices below come from the ring of southeast Edmonton communities Tipaskan belongs to.

How much does it cost to move in Tipaskan?

The median local move across the 114 residential jobs in the southeast Edmonton communities around Tipaskan came to $760 with tax included, with half of them between $491 and $1,215. That is the figure to plan against here, because the rate is hourly: the number of movers and the size of the truck set it, and the agreement states it before the crew starts.

  • How long does a local move around Tipaskan take?

The middle job in the surrounding southeast Edmonton communities ran 4 hours on site, with half of the 114 landing between 2.75 and 6.69 hours, and 65% of them graded small. Because travel time within city limits is not charged, those hours are the working hours at the two addresses rather than anything else.

  • What is a low-rise apartment move like in Tipaskan?

It is a stairs job rather than a lift job: no home in Tipaskan sits in a building of five storeys or more, so the carry is a stairwell plus the walk from the entrance to wherever the truck can stand. Telling us the floor and the parking situation when you book is what keeps the hours honest, since the rate is charged by the hour.

  • Do I need a permit to park a moving truck in Tipaskan?

Only where the truck has to occupy the roadway rather than a driveway or a building's own parking. Edmonton's On-Street Construction and Maintenance permit covers that, has no fee attached at present, and takes about 6 business days to process, so it is a call to make the week before rather than the morning of.

Tipaskan neighbourhood guide for moving day

The line that matters most here is the share of homes in low-rise apartment buildings, paired with nothing at five storeys or more. There is no tower lift to book, but there is a stairwell and a walk across the lot on a good share of jobs. That is exactly the thing that moves a booking from half a day toward a full one, so give the floor number when you book. Reserving the road itself is a separate step: Edmonton's OSCAM permit costs nothing at present, takes about 6 business days to process, and wants at least 6 working days' notice for low-impact work.

Figures come from Cactus’s own completed residential moves (business and high-frequency accounts excluded) and from official municipal open data; they are medians and quartiles, never averages, every published figure rests on at least five moves, percentages are rounded, and all-time counts are floors because some older pickup and drop-off addresses were never geocoded.

Thank you Cactus!!! 😁😁😁 Andrii, Vadim and Chint were super nice. They move our heavy couch 🛋️ without any damages - put a moving blanket on it, shrink wrapped it and protected floor with some special pads. It was very effective and looked professional. I'm recommending that company.
