Movers in Kameyosek: what we know about moving here

The row house is the ordinary home in Kameyosek, close to half of them, with detached houses next and a small share of homes in buildings of five storeys or more. Those are three different moving days. A row house is a private door with stairs behind it and a walk out to the street; a tower unit is a lift and a loading window booked with the building; a detached house is a driveway.

Kameyosek generates all three, which is why the first useful question here is what kind of door the crew starts at rather than how many bedrooms sit behind it. Tenure splits close to evenly as well, so lease ends and possession dates both set dates. The figures below are drawn from the southeast Edmonton communities around Kameyosek.

Moving costs around Kameyosek, by the numbers

That set is 30 southeast Edmonton communities and 111 residential moves: 63% small, 29% medium and 8% large. The middle job ran 4.25 hours on site, with the middle half between 2.75 and 6.75 hours, and cost $843 with tax counted, half of them between $505 and $1,312. It pools tower units with detached houses, so the band is wider than any one address in Kameyosek would be.

How much does it cost to move in Kameyosek?

$843 is the median local move across the 111 residential jobs recorded in the southeast Edmonton communities around Kameyosek, total cost with tax, with half of them between $505 and $1,312. Which end of that band a Kameyosek job lands at is mostly the door it starts at: a row house stair, a tower lift or a driveway, each billed at the same hourly rate for however long it takes.

  • What is a row house move like in Kameyosek?

Close to half the homes in Kameyosek are row houses, and those are stair jobs: a private door, an interior flight or two, and a walk out to wherever the truck can stand. None of that is visible in a bedroom count, which is why it is worth describing when you ask for a quote: on an hourly rate, the stairs and the walk are the hours.

  • Do I need to book an elevator to move in Kameyosek?

If your home is one of the roughly one in ten here in a building of five storeys or more, yes. The lift and any loading zone are booked with the building rather than with us, and that is worth doing before the crew is booked. For the other nine in ten the day starts at ground level and the stair run is the constraint instead.

  • How long does a move in Kameyosek take?

The middle job across those 111 southeast Edmonton moves ran 4.25 hours on site, with half of them between 2.75 and 6.75 hours. There is no charge for travel time within city limits, so those on-site hours are what the bill follows, and the load, the stairs and the walk to the truck are what fill them.

  • Is there a deposit on a local move in Kameyosek?

No. A local move carries no deposit, no fuel surcharge and no charge for travel time within city limits. The hourly rate is set by the number of movers and the size of the truck, written into the agreement before the crew starts, and nothing is added afterwards.

Kameyosek neighbourhood guide for moving day

One home in ten in Kameyosek is in a building of five storeys or more, and those jobs need the lift and any loading zone confirmed with the building before the date. That is the arrangement most likely to move a moving day if it is left late. The other nine in ten start at ground level, where the stair run behind a private door and the walk to the truck are what take the time. If the truck has to stand on the roadway, Edmonton’s On-Street Construction and Maintenance permit covers it: no fee at present, and a minimum of 6 working days’ notice for low-impact work.

Figures come from Cactus’s own completed residential moves (business and high-frequency accounts excluded) and from official municipal open data; they are medians and quartiles, never averages, every published figure rests on at least five moves, percentages are rounded, and all-time counts are floors because some older pickup and drop-off addresses were never geocoded.

Rough start, strong finish I hired Cactus Moving twice: first to move my belongings into storage, and later to move everything into my new home once construction was finished. The first move was very disappointing. The day started with a truck breakdown on the way to my house.

I was 100% satisfied with Cactus Moving. My movers were prompt, courteous, and did an amazing job. I would use this company again and recommend them to others. I appreciated the call before the move confirming everything as well as the call after the move to make sure I was satisfied.
