Movers in Casselman: what we know about moving here

Row houses are the majority form in Casselman, with detached homes and low-rise apartments taking most of the rest. What makes that worth noting is the tenure sitting on top of it: most of these homes are owned rather than rented, so this is a district of attached houses that people buy, and its moving calendar answers to possession dates as much as to lease ends. No home in Casselman is in a building of five storeys or more, which takes tower lift bookings out of the question and leaves the walk from the door to the truck as the thing to describe when you ask for a quote. Hours and prices come next, measured across the northeast Edmonton communities Casselman adjoins.

Moving costs around Casselman, by the numbers

Thirty communities in northeast Edmonton make up that set, with 82 residential moves between them and Belvedere, Parkdale and Clareview Town Centre carrying the most. The median cost was $677 with tax counted, and half the jobs sat between $441 and $1,087. Time on site had a median of 3.88 hours and a middle half of 2.25 to 5.44. The grading skews small, 78% small against 17% medium, which fits a ring of row houses, low-rise apartments and modest detached homes. It is a small sample, so read it as a range.

How much does it cost to move in Casselman?

The nearest costed sample is the surrounding northeast Edmonton communities: 82 residential moves at a $677 median with tax included, and half of them between $441 and $1,087. Casselman moves are quoted by the hour, so the number of movers and the size of the truck set that rate, the agreement states it before the work begins, and there are no fees to find afterwards. Eighty-two moves is a modest sample, so treat it as a range.

  • What size of move is most common around Casselman?

78% of the 82 residential moves in the surrounding northeast Edmonton communities were graded small and 17% medium, with the remaining sizes too thin to publish. That fits a ring of row houses, low-rise apartments and modest detached homes, which is close to Casselman's own housing description. Grading is our own, applied to the job rather than to the address.

  • How long does a local move around Casselman take?

The middle job across those 82 moves ran 3.88 hours on site, with half of them between 2.25 and 5.44 hours. Hours are what carry a job up the price range, since the rate is hourly and travel time within city limits is not charged. A row house with interior stairs and a carry to the kerb runs longer than a ground-floor suite does.

  • What is a row house move like in Casselman?

It is mostly a question of the carry. Row houses are the majority form in Casselman, and on a shared run there is often nowhere to put the truck directly outside the right door, so the distance between the tailgate and the front step is what adds the hours. There is no tower lift involved, since no home here reaches five storeys, and the load goes down interior stairs. The hourly rate is the same one an apartment move is billed at.

Casselman neighbourhood guide for moving day

A row house move and an apartment move are not the same job, and Casselman is heavily the first with a fifth of it the second, so it is worth saying which one you are booking. Neither involves a tower lift, since no home here is in a building of five storeys or more. What both can involve is the road. Edmonton's On-Street Construction and Maintenance permit is the mechanism for parking a truck where it needs to be, and the City asks for it at least 6 working days ahead of low-impact work and 10 ahead of high-impact, with longer waits during construction season.

Figures come from Cactus’s own completed residential moves (business and high-frequency accounts excluded) and from official municipal open data; they are medians and quartiles, never averages, every published figure rests on at least five moves, percentages are rounded, and all-time counts are floors because some older pickup and drop-off addresses were never geocoded.
