How Do We Estimate The Moving Cost from Calgary to Vancouver
Long-distance moving costs are calculated per shipment, not from a fixed rate per kilometre. Loading is billed at an hourly rate with a minimum charge. Transportation and unloading are a flat fee, confirmed before your move begins. Four things determine both figures.

Calgary and Vancouver are approximately 970 km apart via the Trans-Canada Highway and the Coquihalla. Your exact addresses refine that figure and tell us the site conditions at each end. Loading is billed hourly with a 2-hour minimum in Calgary, so we assess both properties at quoting to ensure the hours we estimate are the hours we bill.
For each address we need to know:
- Access at both the pickup and delivery addresses
- Elevator booking, if either property is an apartment building

We do not apply peak-season surcharges or weekend premiums. Your hourly loading rate and flat transportation fee are the same in February as in the last week of July.
Your preferred pickup date reserves the crew and the vehicle assigned to your move. Capacity is the only thing that changes with the calendar, so month-end dates, weekends and the summer season are booked furthest ahead. If a lease start or a booked elevator fixes your date in Vancouver, tell us and we schedule the pickup backward from it.

Sets your loading hours and how your belongings travel
Moves crossing a provincial border require an exact inventory list rather than an estimate, because your vehicle and space are committed before loading day.
What we need from you:
- An exact list of everything being moved, with photographs and measurements of large items
- The square footage and number of rooms in your home
Together these tell us how many movers your move requires, which sets your loading hours.
Your total volume determines the shipping option. Smaller moves usually ship by pallet, which is the most economical choice and is delivered within 10 business days of pickup. Larger moves are assigned a 26 ft truck, with transit from Calgary to Vancouver taking 1 to 2 days.
